March was our chance to recognize the contributions of social workers to our society as we celebrated National Social Work Month.

How we celebrated!

NSCSW staff, Council & social workers across the province came together to celebrate the profession, talk ethics & share stories.

The College kicked off the month by introducing the Ethical Decision Making Tool with members connecting via Facebook live and in house for an interactive event. We also brought the tool to Amherst for an engaging ethics dialogue, visited social workers in the Kentville for a honest conversation on the realities in social work practice.

“Its apparent that the College & Council are taking a thoughtful approach and making some positive changes. I look forward to seeing more of your progress!” noted Tracie from Kentville.

We capped off the month with a day of professional development at Social Work Ethics & Intersectionality at the Military Family Resource Centre. Over 100 social workers braved the snowy weather to join their colleagues for a day of insight and left with concepts to introduce in their ethical practice.

A special thank you to everyone to came out to these events and who celebrated National Social Work Month in their community! We’ll be connecting firsthand on an ongoing basis as we aim to create an open, authentic two-way dialogue.
