We establish, maintain, and regulate Standards of Professional Practice to ensure Nova Scotians receive the services of skilled and competent social workers who are knowledgeable, ethical, qualified, and accountable to the people who receive their services.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work and Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers required.
· Ideally 3-5 years’ experience in a role of similar capacity
· Effective and efficient problem-solving techniques
· Strong knowledge and understanding of the Mi’kmaq interest in the Children and Family Services Act (Nova Scotia) and proceedings involving Mi’kmaw children and families and the federal Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families;
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites, especially in Word, Excel and Outlook
· Experience using data management systems, an asset.
· Experience working or living in First Nations Community, preferably PLFN considered a strong asset
· Valid driver’s license and vehicle
