The Associate Registrar is central to NSCSW’s mission—upholding professional standards, fostering Africentric and culturally responsive practices, and collaborating with communities and stakeholders. In this role, you’ll oversee the registration process, contribute to policy work that promotes equity and inclusion, and make a lasting impact on the profession and the communities we serve.
In this role, you will:
- Manage applications, assessments, and approvals, ensuring equitable access and Africentric principles are at the forefront.
- Collaborate with committees and community partners to strengthen the integrity of social work across Nova Scotia.
- Evaluate standards, guidelines, and specialist assessments with a strong focus on inclusion and cultural competence.
- Prepare meaningful reports and contribute to initiatives that grow the profession.
What we’re looking for
- Master’s degree in Social Work (required).
- Registered or eligible to register as an RSW in Nova Scotia.
- At least five years of social work experience with a strong commitment to adult education and Africentric practices.
- Knowledge of social work regulations, standards, and ethical codes.
- Skills in project management, advocacy, and community development.
- Proficient with technology for remote and collaborative work.
