Media release: NSCSW launches new Code of Ethics to advance reconciliation, reparations & public safety

Sep 25, 2025 — The NSCSW has officially launched its new 2026 Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, a foundational document designed to advance reconciliation, reparations, uphold justice, and ensure the safe and ethical delivery of social work services across the province.

Sep 25, 2025 — A decade has passed since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada released its 94 Calls to Action. This 10-year mark serves as a powerful moment for reflection, accountability, and a renewed commitment to the path of reconciliation. Today, we are proud to publicly launch the new Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice that will take effect in 2026.


2025 Student Bursaries

Student bursaries will be awarded to several NSCSW members who attend accredited social work programs in the fall of 2025. College bursaries are awarded based on the student’s commitment to professional social work practice.
