Webinar: Help is on the Line; Incorporating Technology into Therapy

Oct 28, 2020 — Jenny Cameron MSW, RSW, and Thomas Williams, MSW, RSW, will describe key points about historical and contemporary telehealth services, and discuss future directions of telehealth in Nova Scotia and across Canada. Particular attention will be paid to how technology can be used to provide more equitable services to marginalized populations within Nova Scotia. The discussion will be situated within the Social Work Code of Ethics, covering how we can ensure services promote inherent dignity, social justice, and confidentiality for all of those involved. Delivered in partnership between CASW and NSCSW.

As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic hits Nova Scotia, the impact on our collective well-being will be felt. The pandemic won’t just impact our physical health, but our mental health as well. In these stressful times professionals from different specialties are called upon to get involved. The goal of social workers in a crisis is to holistically resolve problems through social intervention.
