At our conference and AGM last month, our keynote speaker, Deborah Levans, spoke frankly about white supremacy in social work practice and offered that white supremacy is when whiteness is normalized and seen as aspirational. Our Executive Director/Registrar, Alec Stratford, welcomed his daughter to the world on June 30, 2018. Alec will be taking 6 months away from the NSCSW to take on a full-time parenting role from July 2 to December 31. NSCSW is holding a panel discussion the evening before our public symposium. All stakeholders involved with the child welfare system are welcome. Five professionals will share their diverse experiences and perspectives regarding child welfare during a moderated discussion, followed by a public Q&A.

Social Work Camp was created to provide a reasonably priced continuing education opportunity where we can also unwind, rejuvenate, have fun, and return to work feeling inspired.

The NSCSW is inviting all stakeholders to join us for a child welfare symposium on June 15, 2019 to explore alternative policy and program options to in order to advocate for change to this crucial system.

Social workers are consistently faced with ethical dilemmas in practice. This train-the-trainer session is a small-group discussion on ethics and the struggles that social work practitioners are experiencing.
